Kinyoun Technique
The Kinyoun technique is a method of acid-fast staining that fundamentally differs from the Ziehl-Neelsen method by not utilizing heat during the primary staining process. Instead, carbolfuchsin is applied to the cells without heat, followed by the standard application of an acid-alcohol decolorizing agent and a methylene blue secondary counterstain.
