Limitation of the Lorenz Curve in Representing Real Wage Levels

While the Lorenz curve is a useful tool for visualizing changes in income distribution and inequality, such as the reduction in the Gini coefficient following a productivity increase, it does not provide information about the absolute level of real wages. To analyze the level of real wages and how they are affected by economic changes, the Wage-Setting and Price-Setting (WS-PS) model is required.
