Limitations of Chaturvedi et al.'s 2020 COVID-19 Impact Survey

In their 2020 survey investigating the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on students, Chaturvedi et al. identified several methodological limitations. The sampling technique relied on digital infrastructure and voluntary participation, which increased selection bias. Additionally, travel restrictions prevented outreach to students lacking online learning access. The survey also utilized a cross-sectional design with no follow-up period for participants. Despite obtaining data from a single specific geographic area, the researchers expected their findings to be fairly generalizable to schools and universities nationwide due to widespread lockdown orders and the uniform shift to online classes.
