Linnaean Taxonomy

Linnaean taxonomy is a standard format for categorizing organisms proposed by Carolus Linnaeus. In this system, the natural world was divided into three kingdoms—animal, plant, and mineral—and organisms were grouped using a hierarchy of increasingly specific taxonomic levels based on their similarities.
