Longitudinal Study on Anger and Heart Disease in Medical Students
A long-term investigation followed over 1,000 male medical students for decades, assessing their reactions to pressure. The results showed a dramatic correlation between anger and cardiac health. By age 55, participants who had initially reported the highest levels of anger were over six times more likely to have had a heart attack and 3.5 times more likely to have developed heart disease compared to those who reported less anger.
