Model of Theoretically Motivated Research

Theoretically motivated or theory-driven research integrates the hypothetico-deductive method with the broader model of scientific research in psychology. In this framework, the research cycle is guided by theoretical considerations. Researchers use established theories to generate testable hypotheses, conduct empirical studies, and interpret the data, which in turn leads to the reevaluation and refinement of the original theories. This approach ensures that empirical research is systematically connected to larger explanatory frameworks rather than being a collection of isolated observations.
