Moses's Inquiry on Divine Apportionment and Submission in Elahi Nameh

In Section 11 of Attar's Elahi Nameh, Moses asks God how to identify His true friends and enemies among creation. God replies that His friends are those who accept His blessings and divine apportionment (qismat). Conversely, His enemies are those who rebel against or constantly lament their allotted fate, leaving them in a perpetual state of bewilderment. This dialogue illustrates the central Sufi principles of absolute submission and contentment (rida) with the divine decree.
