We found no significant results. 
- Women did not experience greater body dissatisfaction and shame than men.

My Research on the Impact of Gender of TikTok Creator on the Body Perceptions of the Viewer: Results 

We selected four Tik Toks of diet and exercise content. Two of the videos depicted men and two depicted women. Participants were randomly assigned to view either videos depicting men or videos depicting women. After watching the videos, participants completed questionnaires that measured their body dissatisfaction and shame.

This semester for my Research Methods class, my research partner and I conducted an experiment on the effect of diet and exercise TikTok content on men and women. We specifically looked at it from a gendered perspective as there is an abundance of research focusing on the body image concerns of women and few on men's body image. Thus, in our study, we focused on both.

For our study, we focused on whether the gender of the participant and gender of the TikTok content creator (our independent variables) had an impact on the participants' body dissatisfaction and shame (dependent variables).

We hypothesized that....
- Women would experience greater body dissatisfaction and shame than men after viewing diet and exercise TikTok content 
- Participants would experience greater body dissatisfaction and shame when viewing TikTok diet and exercise content featuring a creator of their same gender. In other words, men would experience greater body dissatisfaction and shame when viewing the content of a man and women would experience greater body dissatisfaction and shame when viewing the content of a woman.
