Neuroticism/Stability Dimension in Eysenck's Theory

The neuroticism/stability dimension in Eysenck's theory pertains to emotional reactivity and stability. Individuals high in neuroticism are characterized as anxious and are believed to have an overactive sympathetic nervous system, which causes a 'flight-or-fight' reaction even to minor stressors. Conversely, those high in stability are more emotionally composed and require significantly more stimulation to trigger a similar stress response.
