Optical Illusion of Widening Vertical Distance Between Indifference Curves

When observing an indifference map, the vertical space between adjacent curves may seem to increase as one moves horizontally to the right. This perceived widening is a common optical illusion. The actual vertical distance between the curves does not necessarily change in this way, a fact that can be confirmed by direct measurement on the graph.
