Original Findings Leading to the Hawthorne Effect

During the Hawthorne Studies, researchers observed that productivity improved regardless of the changes made to a variable like lighting. This improvement occurred even when the conditions were made objectively worse, such as reverting to poor lighting, suggesting that the change itself, and the associated attention, was the influential factor.
