Participant Selection in the MTA Study

The Multimodal Treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (MTA) study faced significant limitations. First, extended-release medications did not exist when the study was conducted. Second, treatments were not controlled post-study, which makes it impossible to definitively conclude that MTA treatments remained effective beyond the study period.

Limitations of the MTA Study
