Payoff Calculation in the Pest Control Game

In the pest control game, the payoff for each farmer is calculated by taking their income from selling crops and subtracting the costs of their chosen pest control method and any expenses for water filtration. The need for a costly filtration system, and its associated cost, arises only when both farmers choose to use the 'Toxic Tide' pesticide, which causes severe water contamination.
