Pharmacodynamics 

The study of how living systems affect drugs. Pharmacokinetics studies the uptake of drugs by the body, the biotransformation they undergo, the distribution of drugs and their metabolitites in the tissues, and their subsequent elimination from the body.

Pharmacokinetics

A type of treatment in which pharmaceutical drugs are administered to treat or cure a disease, injury, and mental or physical disorders.

Therapeutic Treatment 

A type of treatment in which antibiotics are administered to prevent diseases.

Prophylactic Treatment

Refers to a drug's ability to prefer affecting a particular cell population over others.

Refers to a drug's ability to cause a particular action in a given cell population.
