Photoreceptors in the Retina Figure (Figure 5.12) illustrates the anatomical structures and cell layers involved in light detection within the eye. The diagram shows light passing through the optic nerve, past Ganglion cells, and reaching the photoreceptor cells (rods and cones) situated at the back of the retina. Cones are colored green and rods are colored blue.
