Jami presents Parviz's death at Shiruyeh's hand as retribution for the deceit that caused Farhad's death. Parviz first removes his rival from Shirin through a deadly stratagem; the revolving heavens then place the sword of vengeance in Shiruyeh's hand, separating Parviz from both Shirin and his royal pleasures. This parallel structure turns two acts of violence into an example of moral reciprocity: the harm inflicted upon another ultimately returns to its perpetrator.
