Positive Reinforcement in Education

Positive reinforcement is highly effective as a learning tool to influence students' behavior and increase achievement. For example, a program in Dallas significantly increased reading comprehension by paying second-grade students $2 each time they read a book and passed a short quiz. Other common educational and life rewards include high grades, praise, and paychecks.
