Rapid Emotional Cycling in Toddlers
Toddlers are capable of rapidly cycling through contrasting emotional states. For example, a toddler may display an expression of intense happiness or joy, such as laughing, in one moment, and then quickly shift to an expression of profound sadness or distress, such as crying, in the next. These rapid shifts demonstrate how quickly emotions can change during early childhood.
