Rationale for Developing CREST
Patients with Anorexia Nervosa (AN) often experience difficulty identifying and labeling emotions, leading to decreased emotional awareness and extreme emotional responses. Some individuals use disordered eating to manage or express these intense emotions. Cognitive Remediation and Emotion Skills Training (CREST) was developed as an intervention to address these specific emotional processing difficulties by emphasizing the identification and management of emotions.
