Response Tendencies (Skinner)

In B. F. Skinner's personality theory, response tendencies are the foundation of consistent behavior patterns. These are not inborn traits but learned inclinations to behave in certain ways. An individual develops these tendencies over time by learning to increase behaviors that lead to positive outcomes (reinforcement) and decrease behaviors that result in negative outcomes (punishment).
