Role of Parenting in ADHD Development

Contrary to some beliefs, poor parenting is not a cause of ADHD. This conclusion is substantiated by genetic research, which demonstrates that the family environment does not play a significant role in the disorder's emergence. If parenting were a primary factor, concordance rates for ADHD among fraternal twins and adoptive siblings would be substantially higher than what has been observed in studies.
