The Adam of beauty, before whom the angel prostrated,
Has, like Adam, been dismissed again.
He said, 'Alas, non-existence after existence!'
He said, 'Your sin is that you lived too long.'
Gabriel is dragging him by his hair,
Saying, 'Go away from this Paradise and from the assembly of the happy ones.'
He said, 'After honor, what is this humiliation?'
He said, 'That was justice, and this is your judgment.'
'O Gabriel, you used to prostrate with your soul,
Why do you now expel me from Paradise?'
'My robe is flying off me in this trial,
Like leaves from the tree in the autumn season.'
That face whose brilliance was like the moon
Has become in old age like the back of a lizard;
And that head and skull, once proud and radiant,
Has become unpleasing and bald in old age;
And that stature, once straight like a spear in its graceful movement,
Has become bent in old age like a bow;
The tulip color has become the color of saffron;
The lion-like strength has become like the faint-heartedness of women;
He who used to lift a man under his arm with skill—
They now hold him under the arm when he walks.
These indeed are the effects of grief and witheredness;
Each of these is a messenger of death.

نیست از پیری و تب نقصان و دق
سستی او هست چون سستی مست 
که اندر آن سستیش رشک رستمست
گر بمیرد استخوانش غرق ذوق

گر تو کردی شکر و سعی مجتهد 
غم مخور که صد چنان بازت دهد

امة الایمان اصلح بالهم
گم شد از بی شکر خوبی و هنر

خوش کند دلشان که اصلح بالهم

هر چه بردی زین شکوران باز ده

زانک منعم گشته اند از رخت جان
صوفییم و خرقه ها انداختیم

But if its physician is the light of God,
It suffers no decline from old age, fever, or consumption.
Its weakness is like the weakness of a drunkard,
Whose weakness is the envy of Rostam.
If he dies, his bones are drowned in ecstasy,
