Consider a situation where one person (the 'Proposer') has $100 to divide. The Proposer makes a single, simultaneous, take-it-or-leave-it offer to two other people (Competitor A and Competitor B). If only one Competitor accepts the offer, they receive the offered amount, and the Proposer keeps the rest. If both accept, one is chosen at random to receive the money. If both reject, no one gets anything.
