Sufi Reinterpretation of the Grave's Interrogation in Asrar Nameh Section 9

In Section 9 of Attar's Asrar Nameh, the traditional Islamic narrative of the questioning in the grave (traditionally by the angels Munkar and Nakir) is reimagined through a Sufi framework. When a disciple sees his deceased master in a dream and asks about his state, the master recounts being interrogated about his Lord. His response—that he exchanged the narrowness of the world for God—illustrates the Sufi ideal of absolute surrender. Instead of theological fear, the master's salvation lies in his complete devotion, demonstrating how mystical love transcends the conventional terrors of the afterlife.
