Symptomology of COVID-19 in Children

Children account for only about 1–5% of confirmed COVID-19 cases and generally experience milder disease than adults, with better prognoses, lower hospitalization rates, and very low mortality. Reported symptoms such as fever, cough, and shortness of breath occur less frequently in children than in adults, and a notable minority present with ocular manifestations (e.g., conjunctival discharge). Individual studies characterizing this clinical presentation and its severity are detailed in the child nodes.
