Teacher Feedback and Student Reciprocity: Results of fostering self-regulation through mindful yoga

  • Overall, teachers had very positive feedback to the mindful yoga practice. They noted that the classroom felt more calm and they were being more mindful towards students.
  • For students, there was an 83% written response rate
  • 60% of the students reported yoga was helpful, 30% reported yoga helped them feel calm, and 25% reported improved concentration
  • In contrast, 40% of the students reported yoga was unhelpful; 10% were unhappy with the loss of class time, 10% didn't find calming nor did it help them focus, and 9% reported that yoga made them even more distracted
