Teachers progress in Concept Mapping (Concerning the Relationship between teachers’ theoretical orientations towards reading and their concept maps)
Strahan (1989) examined the concept maps of experienced and novice teachers before and after a teacher education course. He found that the maps of experienced teachers contained more concepts, chunks, links between concepts and were more organized, relative to those of less experienced teachers. Examination of the content of the maps revealed that the experienced teachers were generally more “student centered,” while novices’ maps were initially more “teacher oriented,”
