The team halo effect refers to the phenomenon that when a success takes place, the team as a whole is often credited rather than individuals. However, when a failure occurs, an individual is often blamed rather than the whole team.

Workplace diversity can arise because organizations operate in a global marketplace with suppliers and employees located in different countries. It can also appear through coworkers with different religious, ethnic, racial, or geographic backgrounds.

Team diversity, such as a team's gender mix, can introduce communication and interpersonal-relationship problems that hinder performance, but it can also increase the team's skill set, which may improve team member interactions.
