A problem resolution team refers to the type of team that is established to solve a problem or an issue.The diagnostic force of the Centers for Disease Control would be an example of problem resolution team.

A creative team is a group formed to develop innovative possibilities or solutions. A common example is a design team within a car manufacturing company, which is tasked with creating new vehicle models.

Creative Team

A virtual team is a group of geographically separated individuals who are brought together to function as a team using digital communication technology. Their prevalence was growing even before the COVID-19 pandemic, driven by the globalization of organizations and the increased use of digital tools for consulting and partnerships.

Virtual Team

A tactical team is assembled to execute a well-defined plan or objective. For instance, a police or FBI SWAT team responding to a hostage situation is a type of tactical team.

Work teams can be categorized into three basic types based on their primary function: problem resolution, creative, and tactical. A fourth significant category is the virtual team, which is distinguished by its members being geographically dispersed and collaborating through digital communication.

The team halo effect refers to the phenomenon that when a success takes place, the team as a whole is often credited rather than individuals. However, when a failure occurs, an individual is often blamed rather than the whole team.
