In Section 8 of the Mosibat Nameh, Attar presents the story of Harun al-Rashid and Bahlool encountering a bird-nested skull of a pigeon-fancier. Bahlool explains that the man's lifetime obsession with pigeon-play remained with him after death. This allegory highlights the Sufi teaching that earthly desires and attachments ('havas') persist beyond physical demise and define a person's eternal spiritual state.
