The Allegory of Jesus and Iblis on the Rejection of Habitual Worship

In this section of the Mosibat Nameh, Attar presents a dialogue between Jesus and Iblis (Satan) to distinguish between ritualistic habit and spiritual Truth. Jesus rebukes Iblis's claim of long-standing prostration, asserting that worship performed out of habit (عادت) is unworthy of the Divine court and holds no relation to Truth (حقیقت). The passage also establishes the theological metaphor of the world as the total endowment (وقف) of Iblis.
