Khidr, representing eternal life through drinking the Water of Life, seeks the companionship of a spiritually high-ranking madman. The madman declines, explaining that while Khidr is preoccupied with preserving his life, the true mystic seeks to surrender their soul entirely for the Beloved, showing that self-sacrifice in Divine love transcends physical or eternal existence.
