The Allegory of Noah and the Potter in Attar's Mosibat Nameh illustrates the divine value of human life and the sanctity of the soul. In this story, after Noah is saved from the unbelievers, Gabriel commands him to break the pots made by a potter. When Noah refuses, explaining that breaking them would waste the potter's painstaking effort, Gabriel reveals God's message: if breaking simple clay pots is too painful for Noah, then praying for the destruction of humanity (the Flood) is far more severe. This parable teaches that God values His creation and admonishes Noah for his lack of compassion.
