The Allegory of the Celestial Spheres and Deceptive Time in Hadiqat al-Haqiqah

In Section 18 of Hadiqat al-Haqiqah, Sanai utilizes powerful cosmological metaphors to warn seekers against the deceptive and destructive nature of the physical universe and material time. He characterizes the starry night as a hundred-eyed deceiver (mubtal) and the sunny day as a one-eyed Dajjal (Antichrist), suggesting that the physical world is an illusion that distracts the soul from spiritual truth. Furthermore, Sanai depicts the passage of day and night as a piebald rope (rasan-e piseh) or a cosmic noose thrown around human necks by time to devour their lifespans. He argues that spiritually awakened individuals must view the cosmos purely as a source of moral lesson (ibrah) rather than becoming ensnared by worldly desires.
