Original content

English translation

How long will you speak of the sky and its cunning and art? By God, its talk is out of deafness. What are the sky and the earth, the heights and the deeps? A green garment and a skirt full of dust. What is the hundred-eyed night? A trickster. What is the one-eyed day? An impostor. It is ugly, especially for the spiritual initiates, To look upon the impostor except as an admonition. For both the wise and the ignorant, The gift of day and night is but grief and the plundering of life. What is the hoop of the world-illuminating sphere? What is the piebald rope if not night and day? Time has cast the piebald rope around your neck In order to slay you. The serpent of heaven has struck you in malice; The piebald rope is here, flee from it! In sorrow over red gold and pure silver, Your mustache has turned green like leek. The leek is green, succulent, and colorful, But the root of its malice is from the bottom of dung.
