آدمی سوی حق همی پوید
آن نکوتر که شکر او گوید

اوست بی شکل و جسم و هفت و چهار
ایزد فرد و خالق جبار

شکل و جسم و طبایع و تبدیل
آدمی راست ماه و سال عدیل

موضع کفر نیست جز در رنج
مرجع شکر نیست جز سر گنج

چون شدی بر قضای او صابر
خواند آنگاه مر ترا شاکر

شکرگوی از پی زیادت را
عالم الغیب والشهادة را

شکر شکر او که داند رفت
گوهر ذکر او که داند سفت

او ببخشد هم او ثواب دهد
او بگوید هم او جواب دهد

هرچه بستد ز نعمت و نازت
به از آن یا همان دهد بازت

گیرم از مویها زبان گردد
هر زبان صد هزار جان گردد

تا بدان شکر او فزون گویند
شکر توفیق شکر چون گویند

پس سوی شکر نعمتش پویند
گر بگویند هم بدو گویند

تن و جان از پی قضا در سکر
دل ترنم کنان که یارب شکر

ورنه در راه دانش و تدبیر
از زن و مرد و از جوان و ز پیر

کورچشمان عالم هوسند
عور جسمان چو مور و چو مگسند

English translation

Man travels towards the Truth (God), It is best that he gives thanks to Him. He is without form, body, the seven and the four, The unique God and the omnipotent Creator. Form, body, temperaments, and change Belong to man, who is matched by month and year. The place of disbelief is nowhere but in suffering, The source of gratitude is nowhere but at the head of the treasure. When you become patient with His decree, He will then call you grateful. Give thanks for the sake of increase, To the Knower of the unseen and the seen. Who knows how to perform the gratitude of His gratitude? Who knows how to pierce the pearl of His remembrance? He bestows, and He also rewards; He speaks, and He also answers. Whatever He took of your blessings and comfort, He will give you back better than that, or the same. Even if every hair becomes a tongue, And each tongue becomes a hundred thousand souls, So that they may offer more thanks to Him, How could they express gratitude for the grace of being able to thank Him? Then they strive toward thanking Him for His blessings, And if they speak, they speak through Him. Body and soul are in intoxication following His decree, The heart chanting: 'O Lord, thanks!' Otherwise, on the path of knowledge and planning, Of men and women, young and old, They are the blind-eyed of the world of desire, Naked of body like ants and flies.
