متن و ترجمه / Text and Translation

راد مردی کریم پیش پسرداد چندین هزار بدرهٔ زر
A generous, noble man, in front of his son,
Gave away several thousand bags of gold.
پسرش چون بدید بذل پدرتر زبان شد به عیب و عذل پدر
When his son saw the father's generosity,
His tongue became sharp in criticizing and blaming his father.
گفت بابا نصیبهٔ من کوگفتش ای پور در خزانهٔ هو
He said, 'Father, where is my share?'
He said to him, 'O son, it is in the treasury of He (God).'
قسم تو بی وصی و بی انبازمن به حق دادم او دهد به تو باز
'Your portion, without any executor or partner,
I gave to God, and He will return it to you.'
اوست چون کارساز و مولی مااو نه بس دین ما و دنیی ما
'Since He is our provider and Lord,
Is He not sufficient for our faith and our worldly affairs?'
او به جز کارساز جانها نیستنکند با تو ظلم از آنها نیست
'He is none other than the nurturer of souls;
He will not do you injustice, He is not of those who oppress.'
هریکی را عوض دهد هفتادچون در بست بر تو ده بگشاد
'For each one He returns seventy-fold;
When He closes one door upon you, He opens ten.'
