متن و ترجمه / Text and Translation

بعد ازان سالکان چو بشتابندعلم حق در حدیث او یابند
After that, when the wayfarers hasten,
They find the knowledge of the Truth in his discourse.
زانکه با علم صورت و صفتستفکرتش بیشتر ز معرفتست
Since he possesses the knowledge of form and attribute,
His reflection is greater than gnosis.
در بهار ار نه عدل وی بودیبا گل و با گلاب کی بودی
In spring, if it were not for his justice,
How could there be the rose and rosewater?
عقل همچون بهار دلجویستکاب فرزانگیش در جویست
Intellect is like a pleasant spring,
Whose water of wisdom flows in the stream.
بال برنا نشاط زن باشدصبح اول دروغ زن باشد
The wing of a youth brings joy,
The first dawn is a liar.
شب برنایی از فطیر بودپیر چون صبح مستطیر بود
The night of youth is from unleavened dough,
The old man is like the widespread dawn.
هست در خانقاه ربانیبر سر شارع مسلمانی
He is in the divine monastery,
At the head of the highway of Islam.
از برای سرور سرو سهینه ز راه بدی ز روی بهی
For the joy of the straight cypress,
Not by the way of evil, but by the way of goodness.
