Section 9 - A Tale on the Forgiveness and Justice of the King

Original content

English translation

Ahnaf Qays, on behalf of a group of captives, Said: "These bound ones are yours, O commander. If they are bound rightfully, where is your forbearance? And if they are in the wrong, where is your knowledge? Forgiveness, which is the root of piety, For what day are you saving it? You asked for victory, God gave it to you; He asked you for forgiveness, do you not remember? Before God and the people, O King, Gratitude for power is accepting the excuse for a sin." His knowledge tasted the nectar of their forbearance, His knowledge bore the burden of their crime.
