شرف آفتاب در حملست
شرف ماه گاو بی جدلست

راس را خانهٔ شرف جوزاست
سرطان آنکه مشتری را جاست

شرف تیر خوشه آمد و پس
مر زحل را شرف ترازو و بس

مز ذنب را شرف کمان آمد
ملک بهرام جدی از آن آمد

شرف زهره برج ماهی دان
بعد از این جملگی تباهی دان

می ندانند که این همه وضع است
اختراع حکیم بی بضع است

چون ولادت سبک پدید آمد
بستگی را یکی کلید آمد

دومین خانه بیت مال نهند
اصل این حکم بر محال نهند

سومین بیت اخوه و اخوات
ایمن از حادثات و از نکبات

چارمین خان خانهٔ پدرست
که ورا خیر و عافیت ثمرست

خانهٔ پنجم آن فرزندست
وآن اولاد و خویش و پیوندست

ششمین بیت بیت بیماریست
که از آن خانه جای غمخواریست

هفتمین خانه جای جفت و عیال
که از آن به شود همه احوال

هشتمین هست خانهٔ نکبات
که از آن مرد را رسد آفات

نهمین جای ملت و دین است
سفر و راه و کیش و آیین است

دهم از مادران نهند شمار
خانهٔ پادشاه و حرفت و کار

خانهٔ دولتست یازدهم
اینت ترتیبها همه مبهم

از ده و دو نشان که دادستند
خانهٔ دشمنان نهادستند

زین ده و دو نظر به پنج کنند
خود درین پنج جا سپنج کنند

English translation

The exaltation of the Sun is in Aries, The exaltation of the Moon is in Taurus without dispute. The house of exaltation for the Head is Gemini, Cancer is the place where Jupiter resides. The exaltation of Mercury is Virgo, and then, For Saturn, the exaltation is Libra and that is all. For the Tail, the exaltation is Sagittarius, The kingdom of Mars came from Capricorn. Know the exaltation of Venus to be the sign of Pisces, After this, know everything to be ruin. They do not know that all of this is convention, An invention of the wise without substance. When birth suddenly occurred, A key appeared for the bondage. They place the second house as the house of wealth, And base the foundation of this judgment on the impossible. The third house is of brothers and sisters, Safe from accidents and calamities. The fourth house is the house of the father, Whose fruit is goodness and health. The fifth house is that of the child, And of offspring, kin, and relatives. The sixth house is the house of illness, For that house is a place of grief. The seventh house is the place of the spouse and family, By which all states are improved. The eighth is the house of calamities, From which afflictions reach a person. The ninth is the place of creed and religion, Travel, path, sect, and custom. The tenth they count from mothers, The house of the king, trade, and work. The eleventh is the house of state, What ambiguous arrangements these all are! Of the twelve signs they have indicated, They have placed the house of enemies. Of these twelve, they look at five, And they make their temporary dwelling in these five places.
