Section 14 - He Speaks Concerning the Condemnation of Sisters

Original content

English translation

And if your mother brings you a sister, The father's face becomes blackened because of her. Give her a quarter of the inheritance, Bring her a husband quickly and with haste. If you do not bring one, she will certainly bring one herself, They will write a contract without your presence. She will not know any avoidance of any man, She will not restrain herself from man or woman. Even from the age of ten, she has in her head Husband, wealth, goods, gold, and jewels. Out of that desire, she foolishly adorns herself like a doll, She desires physical intimacy and possessions. She tears the clothes on her body in frustration, Remaining in anticipation of wealth and a dowry. And if you delay in providing her dowry, All your savings will turn into a fault. She will throw your name and honor to the wind, She will quickly pour dust upon your head. A strange man will make himself at home, And your house will be filled with strangers.
