Section 66 - On the Description of the Form of the World

Original content

English translation

In your essence, you are beyond both worlds; What can I do, for you do not know your own worth? You are a peer to virtuous women; Yet with such strength, you are a true man among men. What is lacking for you, O noble-born? The door is opened, and the banquet table is laid for you. If you, in this abode of deception, Keep yourself away from ignorance and greed, You will beat the drum five times, like intellect and soul, Over the seven spheres and the four elements. And if you cast off the cloak of mortality, You will hasten to the tribe of God's eternity. At dawn, over your three souls, perform Two greetings of peace and four proclamations of greatness (funeral prayers). The elements and the revolving dome of heaven Are dead things, living a wretched life. What do you do in this world of fear and pain? For its patient is sick without anyone to ask after him. Pass on, for this abode is full of mire; The ladder-rung is life, and the roof is death. Whoever reached the roof of this abode, Rubbed his hand over his eyes in regret.
