Original content

English translation

No infamy for man comes before His own injustice and ignorance. What is this talk? Whatever befalls him, All comes from his own injustice and ignorance. The Truth-approving is Knowing and Just; The servant is sometimes unjust and sometimes ignorant. Man with sin is more broken; The peacock's foot is full of the evil eye. For whoever says, 'I have become infallible,' He is an ill omen to his own soul. For he who sees himself broken-hearted, Sees himself ashamed in his heart, He is worthy of the Generous God; He is safe from the torment of the fire of Hell. The God of the world said to David: 'I am the helper of the broken-hearted.' The soul of the pure is the treasury of heaven; The body of the good is the abode of angels. Though your body is unpleasing, It is bold but has good sight. Man, from head to toe, is all flaws; Yet he presumes he is quite good. He has more than two hundred thousand faults; His virtue is that he is ahead of the beasts. If his adornment is from intellect and manners; Otherwise, his lineage is with the beasts.
