English translation

Again, those who are men of astrological rulings, all are self-willed in divination and augury. They speak based on the rotation of the stars, interpreting the year and month as auspicious or ominous. They are all spies of the celestial stars, all with the astrolabe and the dust-board. They are all self-opinionated in their rulings; upon my head, they talk sheer nonsense. The deception of Abu'l-Anbas is their leader; they are less than dust, dust be upon their heads. They have not heard the name of Ptolemy, loud in noise but empty inside like a drum. All are students of Abu'l-Anbas's deception, all speak of his deceit. Day and night counting the seven and the four, the house of grandfather and the house of adversity, The lord of the night and the lord of the turn, from such knowledge, repentance and better repentance! The lord of the hour and the guide of the day, the ascendant, the kadkhuda (lord of the house), and the janbakhtar, The lord of the face (decan) and also the lord of the term, which in their rulings is not rejected. The cause of kadkhuda-ship and the hyleg, which the astrologer stands in need of. He is the lord of the form and the lord of the day, upon which a group of wise men agree. The ruling, the influence, and the lord of the cardines (awtad), beyond the limit of decan, decrease, and increase. Rotation, movement, fall (detriment), and exaltation, which come into existence through their influence. Decline, depression, cycle, and computation, the apogee of the sun, the fixed star, and the planet. The right sphere and the sine of declination, the limit of altitude and the rotation of the night. Sometimes Rahawi (spherical), sometimes Dulabi (wheel-like), sometimes hanging like the sword of an Arab. Distance, slow motion, and the difference between them, the product of the sine and the maximum of the two lengths. The astronomical tables (Zij) of Yahya, Fakhir, and Ma'mun, the altitude of the ascendants, and the what and how. And the one who established motions for the apogee, altitude, and the difference of the hours. The shadow of the gnomon and the sensible point, where the vertices are the measures of angles. Length, width, surfaces, point, and line, in all of which states there is no error.
