Section 3 - On the Dignity of Prophethood

Original content

English translation

If an angel became a demon in the time of Adam, a demon also became an angel in his era. No petitioner, whether in pleasure or in anger, has ever seen 'No' in his eyebrow. The new viewer of the speaker sought no other door than that one. Disbelief has borne witness to his hair, intellect has begged at his street. The dust of his feet is the ornament of the heavens, those of incomplete works find their completion through him. His lips and teeth, in withholding or giving, have been the notches of the key of generosity. His lips, in the paths of doubt, have turned the face of hearts toward the window of the Unseen. He guides humanity to the path of rectitude, he gives substance to the shadow like the sun. His honor, for the sake of any discourse, has made Gabriel take the form of Dihyah. Gabriel, from his honor on the way, became the king over all angels. Adam's eye was brightened by him, his soul was delighted by such a son. Solitary in the realm of Malakut, singular in the majesty of Jabarut. The fragrance of his remembrance is the food of the angels' souls, the length of his life is the orbit of the celestial sphere. His worth is the roof of the highest heaven, his character is the snare for Gabriel the Trustworthy. He was a gift from the exalted time, born of and the elite of the exalted world. He is the kingdom-giving father of the universe, he is the fortunate son of Adam. Adam became both son and father because of him, and by nobility became a son to him. His soul soared above water and clay, he saw the Friend through the window of the heart. His cycle in time is greater than his clay, the east and west of pre-eternity are within his heart. Creation derived honor and nobility from him, he was like the pearl, and other prophets were like the shell.
