در طریقی که شرط جان سپریست
نعرهٔ بیهده خری و تریست

مرد دانا به جان سماع کند
حرف و ظرفش همه وداع کند

جان ازو حظ خویش برگیرد
کارها جملگی ز سر گیرد

با مرید جوان سرود و شفق
همچنان دان که مرد عاشق و دق

حال کان از مراد و زرق بود
همچو فرعون و بانگ غرق بود

بانگ او حال غرق سود نکرد
آتش آشتیش دود نکرد

الامان ای مخنث ملعون
بهر میویز باد دادی کون

هرکه در مجلسی سه بانگ کند
دان کز اندیشهٔ دو دانگ کند

ور نه آه مرید عشق الفنج
همچو ماریست خفته بر سر گنج

اژدها کو ز گنج برخیزد
مهرهٔ کامش آتش انگیزد

کخ کخ اندر فقر چیست خری
چک چک اندر چراغ چیست تری

آب و روغن چو درهم آمیزد
نور در صفو روغن آویزد

تف چو روغن ز پیش برگیرد
نم بیگانه بانگ درگیرد

آه رعنایی طبیعت تست
راه بینایی شریعت تست

آینه روشنست راه شما
پردهٔ آینه است آه شما

English translation

On the path where the condition is sacrificing one's life, Vain shouting is foolishness and impurity. The wise man listens with his soul, Bidding farewell to both letter and vessel. The soul takes its share from it, And starts all affairs anew. Song and passion with a young disciple Is like a man suffering from love and wasting disease. A spiritual state that arises from desire and hypocrisy Is like Pharaoh and his cry at the moment of drowning. His cry at the time of drowning did not benefit him; The fire of his reconciliation did not produce smoke. Heaven forbid! O cursed effeminate one, You gave away your essence for a raisin. Whoever shouts three times in a gathering, Know that he does so from a shallow, two-dang mind. Otherwise, the sigh of a disciple who acquires love Is like a snake sleeping on a treasure. When the dragon rises from the treasure, The bead of its mouth stirs up fire. What is spluttering in poverty? Foolishness. What is crackling in a lamp? Moisture. When water and oil mix together, Light clings to the purity of the oil. When heat takes the oil forward, The alien moisture starts to make noise. Your sigh is the vanity of your nature, While the path of vision is your Sharia. The mirror of your path is bright; Your sigh is the veil over the mirror.
