Section 72 - On His Decree and Destiny, His Command and His Craftsmanship

Original content

English translation

Your decree has given desire its place, The command to religion and the intellect to the world. Whatever is born of the world is from the Command, And whatever the Prophet speaks is also from the Command. Infidelity and religion, good and ugly, old and new, The whole affair returns to Him. All that are under the Command of the Compeller, Are all at work according to the Command. All are overwhelmed and His power is the Overwhelmer, His craftsmanship is manifest in their appearance. All are dependent on His power and His forbearance, All are imprisoned by His prior knowledge. He who is a commoner and he who is among the scholars, He who is the governed and he who is among the sages. The return of all is to His Presence, Whoever has a favor, it is His favor. His means have transported the intellect, His lineages have severed the traces of the soul. The soul's relation to the world of spirit, Is like a blind man and the pearl of Oman.
