The Allegory of the Fool and the Talebearer in Section 21
In Section 21 of Sanai's Hadiqat al-Haqiqah, the allegory of the fool (ablah) and the malicious talebearer (ghammaz) explores the themes of indiscretion and the consequences of entrusting secrets to the untrustworthy. The story illustrates that revealing one's inner secrets to those with ill intentions not only leads to inevitable betrayal but also entangles both parties in a destructive cycle of harm and retaliation. Within the broader context of Sufi literature, this narrative serves as a metaphor for the importance of guarding spiritual mysteries and the secrets of the heart from those who are spiritually immature or unprepared to receive them.
