A negligent worshiper enters a mosque and performs a hasty, improper prayer. A passionate madman holding a stone confronts him, asking for whom he prayed. When the man claims he prayed for the self-sufficient God, the madman remarks that if the prayer had truly been for God, the worshiper would have deservedly been struck on the head with the stone. The story highlights that performing rituals carelessly and without presence of mind or genuine devotion is an insult to the Divine rather than an act of worship.
