In the twentieth discourse of Farid al-Din Attar's Mosibat Nameh, the spiritual traveler (Salik) approaches the Sea, addressing its waves of love and its perpetual restlessness. The sea, despite its vastness, is described as being dry-lipped and thirsty, constantly yearning for the Divine. This allegory illustrates that even the most immense elements of creation are in a state of agitation and search, teaching the Salik that ultimate fulfillment and stillness cannot be found in the physical world but only in divine union.
